Costume Factory - Costume Specialists.

Costumes to hire: Costume Factory has the largest range of fancy dress costumes to hire in Australia, with five locations in and around Melbourne:

> Melbourne CBD (cnr Lt. Bourke St.)
> Kensington (off Arden St, 10 mins from Melbourne CBD)
> Croydon
> Dandenong
> Nunawading (inside Lombards building.)

All Costume Factory stores are open from Monday to Saturday but trading hours vary at each store. We are open late until 7pm on Fridays and also on Thursdays in the CBD store. Customer service is our priority, for this reason our changing rooms close one hour before store closing times.

Photos & Ideas: There are a few photos available in the online galleries but this is only a tiny sample of all the costumes we have available - there are literally thousands of possibilities to choose from.


If you don't see what you're looking for in the gallery please give us a call- our team is ready to talk to you.

When you come in to see us, you will find lots of costume ideas lists and photo books in store to inspire you. Of course, you're welcome to bring in a photo of what you're looking for and we'll do our best to match it for you - we love a challenge!

Conditions of hire: 

  • Average cost of hire for almost all our mens & womens costumes is $70 - $100 for up to three nights.
  • Your security bond payment (usually $100 per costume) is refunded when the costume is returned on time and in good condition.
  • Costumes can be booked up to three weeks ahead of collection.
  • Payment can be made by cash or card and don't forget to bring in some photo ID!
